Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the educational content change, similarities and differences in the context of fine art and design subjects. Fine art and design subjects become a conceptually important issue of the educational content. Indication of the essential ideas that characterise these subjects enables to more exactly and free plan the educational content, allow the revisiting of the knowledge obtained and the artistic contexts. Analysis of empirical data was helpful in revealing the integrity of artistic education and in emphasising the opportunities for integral education. Investigation of major differences and similarities in fine art and design enables the deeper understanding of the essence of the subjects dealt with as well as the changes in art through a prism of pragmatic and artistic ideas, conceptuality.
