Summary/Abstract: In this study the place of the phoneme X in the phonological system of Modern Russian and Modern Slovak is viewed and parallels and discrepancies in this domain are mapped. The problem dealt with is interpreted by the author from the background of the Moscow morphological conception of the phoneme.
