Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the intercultural component of German vocabulary acquisition when teaching German as LSP to students of Economics. The focus is a) on the development and relevance of business culture information in FLT, b) on theoretical and practical points of view in the'‘negotiation of meaning', with a view to help learners develop their intercultural skills and gain cultural insights, c) on presenting some examples of misleading/misinterpreted terms (mainly socioeconomic background and organizational culture) in teaching materials after 1990.
