Summary/Abstract: In his paper the Author notes that almost everything we take in hand is preceded by the instruction manual, a short list of operating principles, which aim to facilitate, to guide the most important functions of various everyday devices. Without it we would not only fail to discover all the possibilities hidden in a device, but also be exposed to a serious risk that the reckless use of it could cause a damage. The same is in the case of theological texts. To understand Thomas Aquinas, we need to stop ourselves for a moment and move into his times. There is a high risk in reading Thomas Aquinas which consists in possible treating his writings as beautiful ornaments. Comments by St. Thomas on the Holy Scriptures, which are the values so openly spoken of by Pius XII, show unity between the Scriptures and theology. In his paper the Author undertakes following issues: the question of order: R. Garrigou Lagrange's advice; the issue of “speech” (“New Blackfriars” company); the issue of expressibility (Th. Marschler); the problem of understanding the integrity of the thoughts of St. Thomas (A. Bandera); the issue of “service”: science as a service to God (E. Stein); the issue of the “four steps” (M. Rossi). The author concludes that Thomas Aquinas's language tries to present the ineffable mystery of God, which expresses his admiration for God who transforms men by the bloodstream of His redemptive love.
