Summary/Abstract: Nowadays investment sentiment plays a significant role in behavioral finance [Shefrin 2002]. A lot of investors are supporting investment decisions by emotions not knowing about it, resulting in many cases from a form of the phenomenon of mass processes. Investment sentiment reflects the propensity of investors to excessively strong or weak reaction to information. Sentiment indicators assess the strength of such reactions on the market, and thus allow investors to adopt appropriate investment strategies. This article aims to present the most interesting methods of measurement of investment sentiment and attempt empirical evaluation of this phenomenon on the Stock Exchange in Warsaw. Data from the Warsaw Stock Exchange will be used to verify the hypothesis of the usefulness of measuring the investment sentiment as a tool to support the investment process.
