Summary/Abstract: The author discusses ontological causality in criminal law. Theories of causality to date are analysed in terms of their logic and methodology, and in the light of natural sciences. It is concluded that conceptions of causality created on this plane constitute in fact theories of criminal liability, and causality itself in criminal law has a purely normative character, as in the case of offences with criminal consequences committed by omission.
