Summary/Abstract: The Center of Our Lady, or The Church of the Transfigurating Mother of God according to the official title (known also as the Church of the Third Testament, the Church of the Paraclete and so like) is one of the new religious movements, that became known in Russia in the beginning of 90-s. Boris Falikov in his paper, delivered at the international conference in Riga in 2000, tells about the history of emergence of this movement, 394 Reliģiski-filozofiski raksti VIII sketches its essence and its place within the context of the Russian culture. Tracing the development of ideas of the Center of Our Lady, Falikov concludes that this movement is one of the examples of the religiosity created and sustained by the Russian counterculture.
