Summary/Abstract: This article examines the problems related to the consequences of privatization, using Egypt as an example. These are grouped into three sections: 1. The relation between investments and privatization; 2. Financial – the after-effects of privatization 3. Political and environmental – the consequences of privatization. That the success of any government privatization is directly dependent on the implementation of the reform program adopted, built on sound principles and rules, is highlighted in the conclusion.
