A Change in the Picture of the World. The Medieval Capitals Veliki Preslav and Turnovgard

Summary/Abstract: The article is based on the theory of Yuri Lotman for the change in the picture of the world, which was proved at the conquest of Veliki Preslav by the Byzantines and the conquest of Turnovgrad by the Ottomans. The difference in the two types of conquest is that in the first case the conquest is only symbolic while at Turnovgrad it is total. This difference is to a great extent due to the different religious affiliations of the conqueror.
