Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the party system of Estonia after the last elections to the Estonian unicameral parliament Riigikogu which was held in March 2003. The main aim of the author is to analyze the party system of current Estonia with the stress on changes which influenced this system after the last elections.Firstlythe article analyzes the elections results and compares them to the previous ones. Then it characterizes the main political parties and defines their positions in the Estonian party spectrum. Particular attention is paid to Estonian center party (EKe) led by Edgar Savisaar and Respublica (ResP), which is led by the former Estonian prime minister Juhan Parts. Established in 2002, ResP became the second most successful party in Estonia within one year. Its success consists mainly in keeping a distance from the political style of other parties and in promising to fight corruption. On the other hand EKe is an old political formation established in 1991 and it is considered to be led in a rather authoritarian way.
