Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the Conditions of Use of the British Library Reading Rooms and their translations into Polish by the students of the Jagiellonian University doctoral studies. It stresses out the specific characteristics of the text and the difficulties met by the translators, resulting from differences of cultural and stylistic approach in English and in Polish.
