Summary/Abstract: This paper gives a brief description of the correspondence between the recent past tense in Italian and the compound perfect in Romanian. Its purpose is to point out the fact that, in spite of different terminology used in Italian and Romanian for the definition and description of recent past and compound perfect, respectively, the correspondence between these two tenses does not raise any problems.
