Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to review modern conceptions of foreign language teaching in the «post-method» era. We present the science-reserach, theory-philosophy, and art-craft conceptions and define the «post-method» era. We also examine how these modern conceptions reflect on the role of the foreign language teachers and their teaching skills.
