Summary/Abstract: The complexity of the relationships and connections that make up the individual supply chain requires an integrated approach to the issues of responsibility. The reduction of responsibility to a single company is not enough. The globalization of the supply chain can generate additional social and environmental problems. Responsibility extends also to consumers who shape the demand for certain products such as FairTrade products during the process of decision making. The purpose of this article is to analyze the market of FairTrade products in selected European countries. FairTrade market development can be treated as a kind of index that shows social awareness of individual consumer and responsibility in supply chain of products produced in developing countries.
