Summary/Abstract: Family is the cornerstone of society. The permanence of the human species over centuries depends on its health and durability. When the family is honored as fit, society progresses, but when it is undermined by various factors, the society itself is staggering. Therefore, it was natural that the family be given due honor in the Holy Scriptures, both in the New and in the Old Testament. That is why the family in Holy Scripture is presented as deliberate and instituted by God right in paradise, that is, since the early years of human existence. Its purpose was God’s exultation and the perpetuation of humanity. The consequences of the original sin were multiple and they affected also the family, the relations between spouses and between them and their children. Lately different threats began to undermine the family, such as: sins against nature, the divorce too easily demanded, marital infidelity, etc. Since the debated theme is meant to question not only the church people, but also the scholars, the ones with different preocupations in the life of the society (Romanian and universal), such as: sociologists, doctors, lawyers, economists, psychologists, politicians, historians, etc. I found it necessary to present this subject so that it can become a source of information and ecclesiological orientation, both for the clergy and the laymen. Through this, both bishops and priests, strive to contribute constructively to the moral recovery of our society, whose basic cell and strength leverage remains the family.
