Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the Byzantine texts, mainly hagiographic, which circulated in Church Slavonic translations in the Old Rus’. It turns out that besides works which do not survive in Greek at all but frequently are of primary importance for study of the Byzantine history and culture, Church Slavonic translations even of such texts that are known in several Greek manuscripts also constitute a great value in the textological as well as informative aspect. The underlying reason is that the source for the translations was one of the richest book deposits of the Empire – the library of the Studios monastery in Constantinople.
