Summary/Abstract: The author points out available data on excavated necropoles from 9th-11th century along the right bank of the Danube, from the beginning of the Iron Gate to the confluence of the Timok. Any of the analysed necropoles has not been completely explored, but the available data mostly represent the result of rescue excavations of multi layer sites undertaken due to the construction of hydroelectric power stations “Đerdap I” and “Đerdap II”. Although the fact that they have not been sufficiently explored represent the greatest difficulty regarding their research, there has been made an attempt to collect, review and interpret the existing results. Finally, there is a short review of their more precise periodization based on the well-known historical events which happened during the observed period in this part of the Serbian Danube river basin.
