Summary/Abstract: The study deals with the beginnings of the Wallachian armorial sphragistics, analyzing the wax impressions validating two documents for foreign issues, addressed to Vladislav, king of Poland: the homage act of Vlad the ‘Usurper’, on 28 May 1396, respectively the one issued by Mircea the Elder, on 17 May 1411. Conserved in the archives of Warsaw, these documents have been previously analyzed by the profile literature on heraldry and sphragistics. The author has had the chance to exam the seals due to appropriate photographic copies, that allowed the enunciation of several undiscovered facts regarding the princely and noble heraldry of the late fourteenth century – the early fifteenth century.
