Summary/Abstract: The existing concepts in the stylistic tradition perceive style, inter alia, as an ornament, a deviation from a standard, a rule of choice, an expression of personality. At present the prevailing conviction is that style is a text feature, a complex feature, the highest integrative rule, comprising other features (from cohesion and coherence to genre and discursiveness).
