Principles and conditions of the real estate valuation in the Federal Republic of Germany

Summary/Abstract: The objective of the paper was to present the principles associated with the profession of the property appraiser and the conditions of valuation of real estates in the Federal Republic of Germany. In the first part of the article the categories of appraisers acting on the German market have been described, as well as roles and objectives of the committees of the valuation experts, freelance appraisers, officially appointed and sworn experts and appraisers which are the members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. There have been presented the legal basis of the process of estimating the real estate in Germany, approaches of the valuation: comparison approach, income approach and cost approach.
