The Relators in the Contemporary General-Purpose Dictionaries of Polish

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the evaluation of lexicographical description of selected relators (traditional relative pronouns) in a few contemporary general-purpose dictionaries of Polish (in {Słownik języka polskiego} edited by W. Doroszewski, {Słownik języka polskiego} edited by M. Szymczak, {Słownik współczesnego języka polskiego} edited by B. Dunaj, {Praktyczny słownik współczesnej polszczyzny} edited by H. Zgółkowa, {Inny słownik języka polskiego} edited by M. Bańko, and {Uniwersalny słownik języka polskiego} edited by S. Dubisz). The author attempts to show, among other things, to what extent the findings of grammar theory are used in dictionary descriptions of the discussed group of lexemes and whether the use of grammar research contributes to the systematization of this description.
