Investigation on Water Resistance of Raincoat Materials

Summary/Abstract: The quality of apparel depends on the characteristics of cloths, apparel construction and clothing schedule. Water resistance depends on the structural characteristics of textile materials (porosity, size and quantity of pores, thickness, density) and also on the chemical origin of fibres. The aim of this work is to determine water-retentivity, capillarity and water resistance of the chosen materials. Five various fabrics (of various fibre composition and knitting structure) were chosen for the study.
