Drape of Cloths

Summary/Abstract: Textile materials wrap human body, giving a dimensional form to the dress. The structure of textile materials and mechanical characteristics of threads determine this ability. The aim of this paper is to research drape of different cloths and the cloth characteristics’ influence on the shear. For this research work were selected five fabrics with different fibre composition, thread linear density, fabric density, surface density, thickness, weave and finishing. The skew test sample method was used to determine drape of clothing materials, a tensile deformation method – to determine shear, the F. T. Pierce method – to determine bending rigidity.
