Migration, Memory, Heritage: the Example of the Thrace Bulgarians, Descendants of Refugees and Resettlers from Eastern Thrace

Summary/Abstract: The current article presents the observations carried out within the framework of the project “Resettlers and Migrants on the Two Sides of the Bulgarian-Turkish Border: Heritage, Identity, Cultural Interactions,” funded by the National Science Fund.1 One of the goals of the research is to trace the process of community formation as a result of migrations and the use of the symbolic capital by these communities in the construction of cultural heritage at a local and national level.
