Summary/Abstract: Theories, approaches to and systems in the field of sociology reach their peaks and gradually disappear, one after another, leaving behind the fact of oscillations between acceptance and prestige, the rise and fall, interconnected with the profound transformation of types of social mentality and domination of ideological orhtodoxies that shaped not only revolutions but the basic ideas of sociology as well. The imposed silence surrounding the sociology of Mirko Kosić cannot be understood outside the ideological-political spectrum ranging from conservativism and Communism, their mutual dissent and hatred, today taking the shapes of neo-Liberalism and anti-Liberalism. Besides observing sociology as a theoretical science on social relations and processes, that sets up and explains relativities in the social events, Mirko Kosić's sociology, attempting in a formal sense to examine social existence of humans in a static context, is not ideologically "destroyed", more so as it rejects as sociology any direct reform of the society, or attempts and desires for direct Utopias. Kosić's handbook sociology is primarily an act of propaganda for scientific sociology, aimed at making the interests for sociology concrete. By all means, propaganda is inseparable from ideology, regardless of the type of ideology.
