he National Strategy for Sustainable Development

Summary/Abstract: In 2007, the Government has adopted the Drafting of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development in accordance with the objectives agreed at Community level and methodological requirements of the European Commission. The European Institute of Romania has identified 10 possible strategic directions for sustainable development in Romania, while exemplifying the planned results. The text of the Strategy is a joint project of the Romanian Government, and United Nations Development Program. In March-April 2008 the text is submitted to public debate. The main deliberative be for the National Council of Public Debate. The final document must take ownership by the Government and submitted to the European Commission towards the end of this year.
