Summary/Abstract: Reflecting the linguistic work of František Kopečný, author of the treatise deals with the influence of the prominent Czech linguist and slavist on his own methodological resources. The analysis of structures with Czech instrumental case and of the eliptic sytactic structures (currently peripheral) shows how important it is, while analyzing a language synchronically, to keep in mind old periods in the language history and analogous phenomena in genetically related languages.
