Summary/Abstract: Abstract This paper is intented to be a study case of strategic intelligence research and academic activities in the field. The first part includes a brief history of the concept’s evolution, focusing on the experience of the American Office of Strategic Services, that is the famous Departament of Analysis and Research (R&A). The second part tackles internal issues and academic profile in the field of intelligence researcher. The last part, the subject of debate regards strategic challenges that intelligence is bound to face this century.
