Social representations of non-monogamous practices in the internet comments of the news portal lrytas.lt

Summary/Abstract: Monogamijos idealo persmelktoje lietuviškoje (iš esmės ir Vakarų pasaulio) kasdienybėje nemonogaminės praktikos itin retai nagrinėjamos viešajame diskurse. O jei ši tema ir ima šmėžuoti žurnalų straipsniuose ar pokalbiuose, dažniausiai ji siejama su neištikimybe. Straipsnyje pristatomas tyrimas yra vienas pirmųjų bandymų sociologiškai išsiaiškinti, kaip nemonogamija suprantama Lietuvos viešajame diskurse. Darbo tikslas – patyrinėti, kaip nemonogamija reprezentuojama interneto komentaruose. Siekiant ištirti komentarų retorinius aspektus ir diskursyvias praktikas, pasitelkiama socialinės reprezentacijos teorija ir kritinė diskurso analizė. Internetas ir komentarai kaip duomenų rinkimo šaltinis pasirinkti todėl, kad jie pasižymi nuomonių įvairove ir gausa, o tai yra būtina sėkmingų kokybinių tyrimų prielaida. Darbe tiriami komentarai, esantys po lrytas.lt straipsniais, skirtais nemonogamijos, daugiamylystės1 ar svingo temoms. Tyrimo rezultatai parodė, kad nemonogamija Lietuvos alternatyvioje (interneto) viešojoje erdvėje socialiai yra reprezentuojama trejopai: hegemoniškai – nemonogamija kaip neleistinas nukrypimas nuo monogamijos normos; emancipuotai – akcentuojama žmogaus teisė rinktis, nors vis vien neatsikratoma monormatyvumo; ir polemiškai – nemonogamija kaip alternatyva monogamijai. Pagrindinis elementas, diferencijuojantis šias socialines reprezentacijas, yra požiūris į seksualumo ir šeimos (drauge ir meilės) santykį – kuo reprezentacija konservatyvesnė, tuo labiau seksualumas, juolab per se mėgavimasis juo, nustumiamas į gyvenimo paraštes ir vadinamas iškrypimu. Non-monogamous practices are extremely rarely discussed in the Lithuanian (or Western Europe/US) public discourses which in turn idealize monogamous pair bonding. Even if the topic of non-monogamy does find its place in magazine articles or everyday conversations , most often it is infidelity that is talked about. The research that is presented in this paper is one of the first sociological attempts to present how non-monogamy is being understood in the Lithuanian public discourse. The aim of this paper is to analyse how non-monogamy is represented in online comments. In order to analyse the rhetorical aspects and discoursive practices of online comments, the social representations theory was used as a theoretical tool, and critical discourse analysis – as a methodological tool. I chose to analyse the comments that were posted in reply to articles on the Lrytas.lt online news site on the topics of non-monogamy, poliamory or swinging. The results suggest that non-monogamy in the Lithuanian alternative (online) public discourse is being socially represented in three ways: hegemonic – non-monogamy as an unallowable transgression of the monogamy norm; emancipated – while the personal right to choose is being underscored, mononormativity still reigns; and polemic – non-monogamy as an alternative to monogamy.
