Summary/Abstract: A review of an anthology of Jerzy Grotowski's writing – Collected Texts (Warszawa 2012). The author is very appreciative that Jerzy Grotowski's texts have been published with hardly any commentaries. The lack of editorial interference and possibility of becoming intimately acquainted with the director’s statements in their “pure” form revitalises this legendary artist's image. Kornaś investigates the evolution of the author's thought, development of his artistic consciousness and his life philosophy, which was based on religious elements and concepts from different corners of the world.
