Summary/Abstract: The beginning of 2011 marked the outbreak of people demonstrations against the dictatorial regime of Bashar al-Assad. Under the influence of the Arab Spring, the Syrian people aspire to achieve freedom, to have a decent life and a secure job. But the transition from totalitarianism to democracy is hindered by President Bashar al-Assad by refusing to renounce power, and what is more, by using violence against his own people. After the armed actions upon the population, Syria is facing a humanitarian crisis of enormous proportions. Women and children are caught in the whirl of conflict and are going through terrible experiences, being wounded, maimed, massacred, obliged to flee from the war, without knowing what the future brings, having no money, no food, no hope.
