Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to bring to light the characteristics of emerging markets, considered as a different class of assets. It is evident that most of the countries at present qualified of emergent will reach the status of markets developed in the future. Furthermore, the emerging markets of tomorrow are today embryonic or do not still exist. Thus, even if emerging markets belong to an unstable group in which outlines remain variable, the concept «of emergence is kept. It is thus fundamental, as far as the theoretical plan and practice are concerned to bring to light this new class of assets.
