Summary/Abstract: The article analyses issues of legal education of V–X grades pupils in the comprehensive school. How law’s subjects are reflected in the V–Xth grades textbooks are analyzed in this article. The content of the law subjects is discussed on the basis of the criteria identified by the theory of law: regimentation according areas of law (administrative, criminal, labor, civil, constitutional, family, etc.), methods of presentation of legal information (knowledge of law, situations of law, decisions in law), and legal education forms (verbal, practical, and visual). The analysis reflects content and form of the legal education found in textbooks. Criteria of evaluation – were knowledge of law significant with the regard to legal sophistication. The results of the study allowed for the following conclusions to be made. Legal education is in the sphere of two areas of science – law and educology. The construct of legal education has two-dimensional structure. It consists of two components: knowledge of law related to the formal school content of education (acquired at school) and general knowledge of law unrelated to the school (acquired by means of self-education, social learning, in the family and in other immediate environment). The system of legal education consists of legal training of educators, legal education of pupils, and legal education of parents.
