Summary/Abstract: In addition to definitions, this paper presents a short overview of situation in the field of disability in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The paper also deals with social exclusion and social inclusion of children with intellectual disabilities. Paper as well emphasize that the creation of necessary preconditions for the participation of children with intellectual disabilities, in accordance with their abilities, in educational, recreational, family and social activities, with full social security of their families, makes the core of preventing the social exclusion, i.e., creates larger social inclusion of this population. Within this context, as the most comprehensive form of community’s preventive action, especially in preventing and reducing social exclusion of children with intellectual disabilities, the inclusive education has been stated, based on the principles of equal rights and chances for each child individually.
