Summary/Abstract: Bishop Iuliu Hossu is highlighted as a legendary figure in the history of the Romanian people. His dedication to taking action in order to achieve and strengthen the unitary national state, as well as to defend the Uniate Church against the adversities of oppressive or totalitarian political regimes, highlights him as an ecclesiastical personality. exception. He combined the features of an athlete of Christ with those of a national fighter. His apostolate was the result of the spiritual accumulations and character of the genealogical chain belonging to two ancient families. The first, military-nobiliary, Hossu de Milaş, acted in a context of civilizations constantly ravaged by wars. The other, named Lungu, remained faithful to the priesthood emancipated in the area of the Transylvanian Plain, under the lights of Blaj and those of Rome. The "dynastic" synthesis of the two ancient rods - which the author develops in this study - has propelled the center of the struggle for the Romanian Zion, which for Bishop Iuliu Hossu represented, at the same time, the Nation and the Church, a new identity: Hossu de Milaş, an emblematic dynasty of Romanian intellectuals.
