Old and the New Canon Law - On the occasion of 90th anniversary of the promulgation of the first Codex of the Canon Law (1917)

Summary/Abstract: Under the title Old and the New Canon Law, and on the occasion of 90th anniversary of the promulgation of the first Codex of the Canon Law (1917), the author reveals the novelty of the present legislature and its ecclesiastical and juridical significance through the analysis of the ten principles that directed the reform and particularly through the comparison of the former and the present legislature enabled by the theologico-juridical method. The author reveals the significant differences between the two Codices already in the first part. However, a more detailed comparison of the new and old Codex, because of the size of the theme, would take too much space. Therefore, in the second part, the author attempts to point, essentially and more concretely, to the difference between the old and the new Codex.
