Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of seeking new meaning structures by the Westerners. As some classic Western narrations tend to prove insufficient, alternative oriental systems may be treated as their substitute. The increasing popularity of yoga practice reflects the possibility of finding inner meaning structures postulated by the modern yogi. By transferring the axis mundi towards immanence, yoga practitioners might find lost meaning they seek for. Philosophical assumptions of classical yoga, along with its contemporary interpretations and the nature of axis of the world in the hatha yoga context are also considered. The author discusses establishing an inner, ordered cosmos by means of specific actions.
