Summary/Abstract: out the influence of immigration towards the labour market in Lithuania and in Kaunas. The analysis of all available Lithuanian Labour Exchange data has shown: while the demand of labour force is increasing, the businessmen mostly feel the lack of skilled workers and artisans, the workers of service and trade staff. It is supposed that in future they are going to compete with specialists, junior specialists, technicians, the operators, collectors of machines and unskilled workers. Considering the economical potential of the country, it is supposed that requirement of additional wor-kers in Lithuania could be satisfied only by attracting able-bodied immigrants - not from EU states members but, mostly, from neighbour states – Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, because the living standard is lower in these countries
