Summary/Abstract: origin of Csángó’s, who live at the present time within the boundaries of Moldavia and speak Hungarian and have preserved their peculiar culture, has been the subject of research for many years but no definitive answer has been found yet as to their origins. Scientists and researchers try to shed light on the origins of Csángó’s using historical data and linguistic data. As of today, the thesis that their origins should be in the Cumans is largely accepted but there are other theses too developed in the light of other research. The evaluation of the research and of the findings with up-to-date scientific data will contribute to a better understanding of the Turkish peoples having migrated from Asia to Europe especially to Eastern Europe and Hungary, the latter constituting the last ring of the band of steppes, on the other hand will shed light on the history of the modern time peoples of Eastern Europe in general.
