Summary/Abstract: Due to particularities and circumstances in which it was developed, compared to other European literatures, the Albanian literature of the lay direction is not distinguished by a special mythopoeic. In comparison to our entire literary output, authors and works referred to myth or mythology are relatively few. Our literary studies have often depicted some of the most essential relations of our literature to myth. Often these studies reflected a professional recognition of a theoretical sphere present also in studies of foreign authors in the field. There are scientific studies consisting of analyses and professional syntheses and those that lack proper theoretical knowledge of the problem. There are also studies bearing weak points of knowledge of artistic mythopoeic or scientific definition of phenolmena of the object, works seeming to lack scientific objectives, etc. By carefully following the creative practice of Ismail Kadare stretching in a number of mythopoeic literary works it can be easily verified that he crafts mythical scenes, episodes, events and characters with events, scenes, episodes and characters from modern life, namely from the Albanian and non-Albanian life of the 20th century. Hence the myth is used in his expressive, synthetic and fictional aspect to construct sophisticated and connotation meanings, to created through fiction symbols and in particular contexts for allegorical readings of his texts as means of expressing ideas, emotions, and active social stances.
