Summary/Abstract: Having been the most important provincial company for more than twenty years, the première of the Kaposvár troupe counts to be old as well, since Tamás Ascher put the same Ostrovsky play on the same stage 25 years ago. András Forgách, known as a dramaturg, a playwright, writer and translator, analysing the new performance, recalls the context of the old one, suggesting that the changes of the historical and the social context put the possible stage interpretations of The Forest in a brand new, but perhaps narrower perspective. With the emergence of different connections, and thanks to the excellent actors, a new comedy is born in Kaposvár.
