Summary/Abstract: The lecture was written on the occasion of The Year of Herbert. The author discusses the contextuality and universality of Herbert's works. She poses the question concerning a phenomenon of the poetry that has penetrated the language of Polish intelligentsia and has sometimes influenced individual choices. Herbert's world of values has been presented through interpretation of a poem Potęga smaku.
