From the Babylon Tower to the Twofaced Janus (An Attempt at an Anthropological Taxonomy of the Bulgarian Language Picture of the World)

Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt at a classification of the denominations of the Bulgarian language picture, in which the center is the Bulgarian man. It outlines five ethnocultural lexical strata: 1-st ethnocultural stratum - denominations, connected to the man, who is self-identified as I. 2-nd ethnocultural stratum - denominations, connected to the man, who is self-identified in a group as we. 3-rd ethnocultural stratum - denominations, connected to the man as an individual from an ethnos (determined geographically, historically and linguistically - culturally). 4-th ethnocultural stratum - denominations, connected to the man as a biological kind, different from the other living creatures and real things. 5-th ethnocultural stratum - denominations, which represent virtual, cognitive, unreal projections of the above four ethnocultural strata. In every lexical stratum taxonomic series can be located, which exhaust the whole lexical system of Bulgarian language.
