Summary/Abstract: Aeschylus creating the “Persians” made many changes in real story. One of them is so Xerxes of Aeschylus is a youth. This change isn’t a ignorance or mistake of Aeschylus, but the intentional change. The analysis of the “Persians” show this is one of the most important point of the drama. The youthfulness of Xerxes is stressedin many ways, for example in terms describing Xerxes - he is very often named a boy or a young one. One of the most important ways to show youthfulness of Xerxes is enter a mother’s love to the drama. Aeschylus made also many other marks of the youthfulness of Xerxes. Perhaps the purpose of introduce a youthfulness in the drama, is to show, that youthfulness is the best ground for the pride (hybris) to grow up and such situation leads to disaster even the most powerful empire.
