Summary/Abstract: This study examines the subjective perceptions of therapeutic interventions among 99 hospitalised patients aged 18–67 with substance use disorders (SUDs) within the Czech psychiatric care system (Military Hospital Olomouc and Psychiatric Hospital Kroměříž). The primary aim was to compare the emotional dimension of dramatherapy (DT) with that of standard treatment approaches, including pharmacotherapy, group psychotherapy, a self-directed therapeutic community and a structured daily regimen. Data were collected between 2022 and 2025 using the semantic differential method, with a focus on the evaluative dimension (pleasant, beautiful, good and light). One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed statistically significant differences (p < 0.01) in favour of dramatherapy across all assessed semantic differentials. DT consistently achieved higher mean scores in the affective domain (5.43–6.05) than standard interventions (4.54–5.28). These findings suggest that dramatherapy is perceived more positively by patients with SUDs than standard treatment approaches and may therefore have potential as a motivational component of the therapeutic process.
