Summary/Abstract: This article offers an analysis of the transformation of cultural-and-media metaphorsof control, freedom, and happiness depicted in the television adaptation of Brave NewWorld, read as a contemporary reinterpretation of Aldous Huxley’s classic dystopia. The article aims to show how metaphor, interpreted as a tool of conceptualizationand a vehicle of axiological values, functions in the media space, transcending thetraditional boundaries of literary aesthetics. The audiovisual production not onlyadapts source metaphors, but also develops them in an intermedial spirit, makingthem an instrument for socio-cultural and ethical diagnosis.
