Educational innovations in the study of pop and jazz music

Summary/Abstract: Globalization affects all areas of life. Musical education has to enable one’s orientation in the rich world of music, as well as the cultivation of a good aesthetic taste. The subject of pop and jazz music should not be overlooked, as these genres occupy an increasingly large space in the preferences of modern people, especially the younger generation. Students’ training is focused not only on classical music, but also on pop and jazz culture. In addition to the theoretical aspect, it is also associated with the development of practical skills for participation in artistic and creative work. Innovations facilitated by modern electronic music systems are a priority. Working with a computer and synthesizer, using music software, preparing multimedia presentations are an integral part of the learning process.
