Summary/Abstract: This study investigates the seasonal co-occurrence of high density-altitude and runway-crosswind conditions at Antalya Airport using hourly METAR observations from 2010 to 2025. High density-altitude conditions were defined as excess density altitude (EDA) above 500 m, while high crosswind conditions were defined as runway crosswind components of 10 kt or greater. High EDA conditions were mainly concentrated in summer, whereas high crosswind conditions were more frequent outside the peak summer period. The raw pooled dependence ratio was 0.465, suggesting fewer simultaneous events than expected under independence. After year-by-month seasonal adjustment, however, the ratio increased to 1.124. This result indicates that the apparent negative association in the pooled data was largely caused by the contrasting seasonal distributions of the two conditions. The study provides a simple framework for assessing compound aviation-weather conditions using routinely available METAR observations.
