Summary/Abstract: The goal of this review study was to fully examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for individuals with social anxiety. The research was conducted by a systematic review method, and no fieldwork or scales were used. Studies in Turkish and English between 2011 and 2025 were reviewed. A total of 8 studies were selected, covering studies conducted on different age groups and sample characteristics. The inclusion of both individual and group-based applications in the studies allowed for the comparison of different intervention methods. The results of these 8 studies show that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has a significant effect on reducing social anxiety in people with social anxiety. The research revealed notable decreases in social anxiety and avoidance levels. Both face to face and on the internet analyses demonstrated that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is effective and gives similar results. Furthermore, the gains obtained are sustainable in the long run. But it was found that the effect of therapy can be different for each person. Some findings indicate that therapy may be more or less effective depending on the personality traits and co-occurring psychological problems of the individuals. Therefore, CBT is an effective, applicable and sustainable intervention method for social anxiety in different forms. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is recommended to be distributed and its types of application to be extended for those who experience social anxiety.
