Summary/Abstract: Subjectivity is most often defined as a sense of autonomy, agency, and the ability for conscious, purposeful action in accordance with one's own values, needs and goals. This raises the question of the essence of the agency of a person under court probation supervision. This article reflects on the various dimensions of human subjectivity, the relationship between the subjective and objectified self, subjectivity in the context of human dignity, and the significance of subject-oriented treatment of the ward in the work of a court probation officer.
